On Feminism;

Feminism- N. A movement aimed at providing women equality in politics, social matters, economics and cultural aspects...


As of late, I've noticed a few things about this movement that really boggles my mind;

Treatment of women; a women is defined as an adult female; and an adult is somebody who is responsible, thinks and then takes action based on the situation and is capable of thought and gauging the outcomes and therefore able to also ACCEPT the consequences. Not overlook them, not ignore them, not place the blame on somebody else.
In fact, an adult is respectable; they SHOULD treat themselves with dignity, respect others, and basically try to better themselves and others when able. They should be able to see people as people; people are beings who have emotions, skills, talents, abilities and intelligence, granted this varies from person to person, but most of all, a person is not simply a physical object. They have depth, dreams, hopes and goals.

Back to women; We can treat a women with respect- women are responsible, productive beings who have the traits of what it means to be a person, and they VALUE themselves based on those traits. They value the fact that they are free thinking, they value the fact that they are talented, that they have skills, talents and can contribute to intellectual fields. That's the whole point of Feminism- to recognize this in women that women are physically different from guys but that's it. In fact, Feminism was SOLEY not based on physical at all- the physical body is not brought up. It's to get equality with men, not shame them, not belittle them, nothing. Doing those things just makes the gender gap bigger.

However- if a person does not value themselves, do we really value them? Think about it; when you read a drug addict died in a paper, or that somebody murdered a string of prostitutes; you pity them. You pity them for the lifestyle they chose. But honestly, we all know that even the cops don't really care that much about them. If it isn't solved really quick it'll get shoved to the back to take care of more pressing matters. Nobody socially cares about somebody who treats themselves like shit.
It's probably why people suicide themselves because in life NOBODY gave a single shit. Maybe if they could have spared Two they'd be around and much happier.

Back to the treatment of women- it is socially unacceptable for a women to treat herself like an object, a slave. Slavery was abolished; Feminism was never about letting a woman have the right to treat herself like slave. So when I hear people complain I'm slut shaming somebody because they value their body over everything else it gets me mad. I call them that because it's honestly what they deserve; if you hate being called a slut it's time to look in the mirror. Our rights were not fought so that you can go and be an object like we used to be treated as. That's backwards, that's backsliding. It's insulting to our ancestors. It's insulting to women. Have a higher standard for yourself. Objects get treated as objects; they're used and then thrown out when they've outlived their purpose.
A male or female does not want to date you solely on your body; they can go find a somebody to open their legs- the whole point of dating is saying this: I see value in you. Don't devalue yourself by objectifying yourself. Actually show your potential partner that you're a star, that' your their sunshine, that you have skills and abilities. That you're a person who should be held and taken care of, that they can see you by their side in the future.
We shouldn't tolerate women who degrade themselves the same as we don't tolerate people who kill themselves with drugs or people who are committing suicide; we are supposed to care enough to help them, show them that there is a better life out there.

So yes- I'm sick and tired of slut shaming, but honestly, slut shaming is an effect to the cause- and the cause is that women are still treating themselves like object, and letting themselves be treated as such. It's disgraceful. Feminism was never about letting a women be treated like an object but demanding she be respected as a person; it was about making sure women were treated like a human being and treated as such. It's not only undermining to let women degrade themselves, but also; You can't have your cake and eat it too. Either have respect for yourself or don't. People will treat you accordingly.
